2022 Vintage | 50% Montepulciano, 50% Sangiovese
This wine is dark ruby red with complex aromas of plum, red cherry and licorice which are all in constant evolution. On the palate, it is full, persistent and superbly balanced.
Rosso Piceno is the largest DOC of the Marche region which is located in central Italy on Italy's Adriatic coast, just north of Abruzzo. Rosso Piceno is always a blend of Montepulciano (35-50%) and Sangiovese (15-50%). The region for this wine includes the provinces of Macerata, Fermo, Ascoli Piceno and Ancona.
Rosso Piceno Superiore has a smaller production zone within land from the 13 most southern towns of the Marche region, an area that is considered to be perfect for grapevine cultivation.The Superiore level must have been aged for at least one year in oak.
