91pts., James Suckling
2018 Vintage | Cab Sauv, Merlot, Cab Franc and Malbec
It was in the mid 1960s, in the heart of Veneto, that Gasparini hosted a state visit by Charles de Gaulle at their estate in Venegazzù, Italy. Such is this family's historic renown.
To this day, Della Casa, first commercially vinified in 1951, remains an old-vine Cab-dominate Bordeaux blend, an original and unique expression of Venegazzù, a grand estate near the eponymous historic town in the heart of Veneto. The estate vineyards are sustainably farmed and blessed with an iron-rich "Ferreto" soil.
As with other releases, the 2018 Della Casa has received high accolades, not the least of which comes from James Suckling: 91pts.

Della Casa's nose is initially characterized by a hint of marasca cherry, joined to a flaour of cassis. The olfactory range is noteworthy, rich in aromatic nuances, well intergrated with the oak, not preponderant, and it shows spicy hints of ripe green pepper, laid down on a musk background.
