BAROLO, I Tre Pais, Broccardo Agr. Fratelli, Piedmont, Italy
2022 Vintage | 100% Nebbiolo - SQNPI Sustainable
Crafted from grapes grown across three historic vineyard locations in Novello, Barolo, and Monforte d'Alba, I Tre Pais is a balanced and expressive representation of the classic Barolo profile. It features vibrant aromatics of red fruits, rosewood, and a touch of oak spice. The palate is dry, rich, and harmoniously structured with fine-grained, persistent tannins and excellent length. This bottle is built for longevity and will evolve gracefully in the cellar for 20+ years. It pairs efficiently with braised red meats, game, and well-matured cheeses.
Managed by the third generation of the winemaking family—siblings Filippo, Federica, and Laura—the estate combines traditional methods with a strong focus on SQNPI sustainable and organic practices. The wines are crafted to express the precise minerality of their native soils, sourced from prime vineyard plots located across Monforte d'Alba, Barolo, and Novello. Winemaking relies on minimal intervention, allowing the fruit to reflect its specific terroir with clarity.
Barolo is an iconic DOCG classification renowned for producing some of the world's most complex and age-worthy red wines. By law, the wines must be 100% Nebbiolo and undergo extensive maturation, including a minimum of 38 months of aging with at least 18 months in wood. This traditional wood aging allows the grape's intense natural tannins and high acidity to integrate beautifully, slowly developing secondary and tertiary characteristics of dried flowers, liquorice, leather, and earth. It represents the more muscular, structurally dense side of the Piedmont region, appealing to collectors who value deep complexity and long-term cellaring potential.
