In the third generation of the winemaking Broccardo family, siblings Fillipo, Federica, and Laura choose to follow in the steps of their parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents. The goal remains the same, which is to say they haven’t changed much of anything at all; there is only a stronger push forward with organic practices. The Broccardo wines strive to elegantly express the precise minerality typical of their native soils. With prime vineyard positions in Monforte d’Alba, Barolo, and Novello, the task is no chore. The grapes do the work themselves, and are simply ushered, with slight hand, from vine to cellar to bottle.
The Barolo I Tre Pais embodies the organoleptic and terroir characteristics of the vineyards located in the three municipalities of Novello, Barolo and Monforte d’Alba (I Tre Pais). The 2020 is an approachable Barolo that encloses an intense, fruity and slightly spicy olfactory profile. In the mouth it is dry, full-bodied, slightly tannic and fully harmonious. It will cellar for at least 20 years.
"This wine strikes a harmonious balance between red fruit, herbal notes, and an exotic blend of spice, rosewood, and floral tones. The palate is chewy, yet delightfully so, showcasing a push and pull dynamic that is both giving and demanding, inviting you to delve deeper. It possesses a serious demeanor, underpinned by great structure that speaks to its crafted sophistication. Drink 2026 - 2045" — Jeff Porter, Wine Enthusiast.
