Malbec, Bodega Claroscuro, Vistaflores, Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina
Blue & black fruits, and violet tones typical of Malbec. 9 months in oak yields complexity and a suppleness of tannins. Vistaflores vineyard is at an altitude of 3428’ above sea level, a height which helps yield full and balanced fruit flavours with a food-friendly acidity. Will age well. 2018 vintage.
Zinfandel, Old Vine, Bogle Vineyards, California
Bogle is the Wine Enthusiast's Magazine's American Winery of the Year for 2019, announced in January, 2020. Look for aromas of juniper, black pepper and spicy nutmeg. Cranberry, raspberry and darker red fruit leads to a full and round finish, softened by aging in 2-year old American oak for 14 months. Hints of marionberry pie and baking spices complete the wine, with a long and lingering finish. Vines are 60-80 years old. 2017 vintage.
Both wines will benefit from being decanted and allowed to breath for about 30 mins.
Case price: $318.12, including tax and bottle deposit.
