Since Rosés are made from red wine grapes, they generally have more of a tannic structure than do whites, but are much softer than reds. In this way, they bridge our needs very nicely when pairing with foods that need something more than a white, but not as strong as a red.

Rosé makes a great appetizer wine for meals with several courses that step from lighter to heavier wines, and is great with hors d'oeuvres or alone as a cocktail. Brunch anyone?

Turkey, chicken pot pies, salads with berry dressings, cheeses, cream sauces or seafood aioli in pasta, smoked salmon, charcuterie, spreads & dips, and hotter days, although don't let the waning of summer spook you off of these gems.

This case consists of 4 different Rosés, all from different grape varieties.

BOGLE, CALIFORNIA

The wine is salmon pink, and its aromatics of fresh-picked strawberries & melons herald a vibrant, abundantly fruity, crisp, clean and succulent palate. For the patio or with lighter fare. A blend of Cab Sauv, Merlot and Zin.

CARMENUCCI, GROTTE SUL MARE, LE MARCHE, ITALY

Deep pink with violet reflections. Intoxicating aromas of red fruit are borne from clay soil rich in mineral salts, the proximity of the Adriatic Sea, and the altitude of the Marche hills. Dry and fresh, harmonious, elegant and persistent. Sangiovese.

CROS-PUJOL, LES VIGNES, PAYS D'OC, FRANCE

Wonderfully refreshing Rosé wine with strawberry, red currant jelly & melon on the nose. Deliciously crunchy on the palate. To be drunk for the sheer pleasure, or simply well-chilled as an aperitif or with light fare. Will go marvelously well with exotic or spicy cuisines. Combines well with white meats, mixed salads, fish, seafood and shellfish.

ERNEST HOLZER, WAGRAM, AUSTRIA

A fruity Rosé with fine acidic structure. The wine perfectly reflects the Wagram region and exudes the unique character of the Zweigelt. A clean, dry Rosé with a balanced explosion of fruit and rose petals. A little fuller than Mediterranean Rosés, the Zweiglet a definite influence. Medium-bodied, refreshing, eminently drinkable.
