Created by Count Loredan, this wine was often used for special occasions in the city of Venice. Indeed, during the 1960s, this wine numbered many heads of state among its admirers, including de Gaulle, which led to the name it bears: ‘Head of State’. Considered among Italy’s finest.
A blend of the vineyard’s best Cab Sauv, Cab Franc, Merlot and Malbec from old clones, the wine is original and profound. Warm colour, intense bouquet and rich aromas of soft fruit and spices. Great balance, fine sweet tannins. Not produced in 2014.
