2017 Vintage | 70% Montepulciano, 30% Sangiovese
Rosso Piceno is a blend of Montepulciano and Sangiovese from the Marche region on Italy's Adriatic coast, just north of Abruzzo. The region for this wine includes the provinces of Macerata, Fermo, Ascoli Piceno and Ancona.
Rosso Piceno Superiore has a smaller production zone within land from the 13 most southern towns of the Marche region, an area that is considered to be perfect for grapevine cultivation. It must be aged for at least one year before being released for sale.
This wine is dark ruby red with complex aromas of plum, red cherry and licorice which are all in constant evolution. On the palate, it is full, persistent and superbly balanced.
